This past weekend something very special happened and we celebrated. You see, my baby girl graduated from Ca State Fullerton with, yes… her Masters Degree. YEAH!!! Going down to witness this special day gave us the opportunity to just hang with the kids and relax.

And relax we did, you see my wonderful kids gave me a very special gift certificate for Christmas that I cashed in this past weekend… a day at Burke Williams spa. Ongie and I, both deserving of the experience went for a day of pampering. Ongie for all the work she put forth on her Master Degree and me for dealing with all the sick and afflicted.

And pamper they did. If you have never experienced a day spa, you have got to go. Oh my god, what a relaxing atmosphere, every one whispers as they guide you around. We began with relaxation massages and then spent the rest of the day going from Jacuzzi, to steam room, to the sauna, to the mist room to the quite room and back again. My skin has not felt this soft for years and years. All your troubles and concerns just melt away (at least for a little while).

We truly had great food all weekend, and had a great time with family and friends.

Happy Days...

Well I have just finished packing; we are going to see the kids this weekend and boy are we excited. Our baby girl is going to receive her Masters Degree this Sunday. YEAH!!!!
I am thankful that she had the character and discipline to hang in there and endure what she needed to endure to receive her Masters. I am a very proud momma.

That my little girl.

YEAH for endings and new beginnings.

One thing that I love about working in the field of education is the beginnings and endings. You start the new semester, with fresh ideas, fresh students and ready to go, you are feeling good. You work your heart out for the next eighteen weeks or so, and when you are totally exhausted and totally spent.... we wrap-up the semester.

So then we rest and re-coup and re-group and start again. I love teaching.

Italian Mothers

Mrs. Bacciagalupe comes to visit her son Anthony for dinner.
Anthony lives with a female roommate, Maria. During the course of the meal, Mama can't help but notice how pretty Anthony's roommate is.

She had long been suspicious of the relationship between the two, and this made her more curious. Over the course of the evening, while watching the two interact, she started to wonder if there was more between Anthony and his roommate than meets the eye.

Reading his Mom's thoughts, Anthony volunteered, "I know what you must be thinking, but I assure you, Mama, Maria and I are just roommates."

About a week later, Maria comes to Anthony saying, "Ever since your mother came to dinner, I've been unable to find the silver sugar bowl. You don't suppose she took it, do you?"

Well, I doubt it, but I'll e-mail her, just to be sure." So he sends his Mom an email: "Dear Momma, I'm not saying that you took the sugar bowl from my house, and I'm not saying that you didn't take it. But the fact remains that it has been missing ever since you were here for dinner.

Several days later, Anthony receives an email response from his Momma.

"Figlio mio, I'm not saying that you 'do' sleep with Maria, and I'm not saying that you 'do not' sleep with her. But the fact remains that if she was sleeping in her own bed, she would have found the sugar bowl by now.

Love, Momma"

Happy Mother's Day to ME

Well today is mothers day and I am happy to be counted among "the mother" population. There is a sense that developes when you truly enjoy being a mother, and well, it is a nice feeling. I am thankful to my daughter for making mother's day a happy day for me. (Love U!). Now that I have mastered this mothers thing, I am ready to give the Grand-mother thing a try :o]

I am also thankful to still have my mother with me. She is high maintenance, but all in all, she is worth it. She just went through a cancer scare but thank God she is through with her treatment and cancer free ( at this moment). Cancer is a terrible disease and seems to be touching more and more of the people around us. Some day I am going to make a list and I know it will be long... to long.

Anyway, Happy Mother's Day.
