What is with the Weather?????

OK I know that things get a little crazy with the up and down weather as we change from winter to spring but I cannot remember a Spring like this one.

Yesterday (Monday) was sunny and in the 80's. I had to run my air conditioner for a little while in the evening because it was 80 degree's up stairs in my home. And today...

Today we woke to clouds-- cold and rain. Not just rain but wind and rain all through tomorrow. I looked out my window at school at around 11:30 AM and it looked like 7:30PM... CRAZY.

I just heard the news and they say it is 27 degrees colder today then it was yesterday at this time. And in two days we should be back in the mid to high 70's again, not wonder we are all sick.

Words with Friends...

I have been introduced to a scrabble type online thing... a long distance scrabble game on your phone. I was hesitant to play since I don't really like scrabble but... I am addicted.

Here are just a few of the words I have been introduced to over the past few weeks.

Guvs- term of address used to a man, esp. by a younger man, boy, employee, or social inferior.
Inure- To habituate to something undesirable, especially by prolonged subjection
Qat- African tea
Zeta- The sixth letter of the Greek Alphabet
Naled- a synthetic insecticide and miticide
Qis-physical life force
Cloyed- to weary by an excess of food, sweetness, pleasure, etc.; satiate
Vrouw- a woman; wife; lady

Time with the Kids... Always good

I had the pleasure to go to a Cengage Conference on Friday. My publisher was great and helped cover my cost, which was greatly appreciated. It was a very informative conference and I want to take a little time this afternoon to debrief; I have a lot to sort out.

But after the conference I had decided to spend Friday night and Saturday morning with my kids. I love spending time with them, it was just what I needed after a busy conference. We ate, we walked, we laughed, we played with there new ipad...I even had a moment or two to read a few chapters in my book.

It was a great ending to a busy, busy week. Thanks kids it was the highlight of the week for sure. Love you.

WOOOOHOOOO

I don't usually watch golf but I did yesterday. I wanted to watch for several things. Yes I wanted to watch Tiger... watch him lose and lose terrible he did, go home grumpy Tiger Go home. YEAH!!!!

That was almost as wonderful as Phil(lefty) Mickelson winning. Yay Phil!!!!

After the bad luck he had on one of the early holes where he was putting and as he struck the ball a twig blew on to the path of his golf ball and cost him a stroke. But perseverance, perseverance. He won by 3 stokes instead of 4 :o]

I am happy.

Why, why do we do this????

I am appalled at the attention Tiger Woods is getting just because he decided to get back to golf. He cheated on his lovely wife and childen and is sorry only because he got caught.

OK I know that all this is private and I think it should be, but I think it is disgraceful to hear of the cheers he is getting; people are happy that he is returning to golf because people think he is the greatest golfer ever... well yes, maybe but he is the greatest golfer ever but he is also the one that cheated on his wife (with many and often).

It is just crazy who we choose to emulate, as it was said in that movie Hud, the makeup of the country slowly changes because of the people we choose to admire.

I think a few boos would be in order...Quite a few. Go Phil, boo Tiger.

Life is just so funny, sometimes...

traffic camera

I received this today in my e-mail. This is just to prove life is not like it seems.

I was driving when I saw the flash of a traffic camera.. I figured that my
picture had been taken for exceeding the limit even though I knew that I was not speeding. Just to be sure, I went around the block and passed the same spot, driving even more slowly, but again the camera flashed. Now I began to think that this was quite funny, so I drove even slower as I passed the area once more, but the traffic camera again flashed. I tried a fourth and fifth time with the same results and was now laughing as the camera flashed while I rolled past at a snail's pace.

Two weeks later, I got five tickets in the mail for driving without a seat belt.
You know you just can't fix stupid, can you?
