Memorial Day....

A day off??? A day to play??? or... A day to remember. I am thankful for the fun times, the BBQ's the family, friends and all that goes with a nice day off, but let us not forget the reason for the day off, the reason for the relaxing day of fun...

I have a BIG THANK YOU for all those that gave their lives so that we can be free, so that we can live in this blessed land of American. May it always be: The land of the free and the home of the brave. Thank you from the bottom of my heart

Education...

Mans mind, once stretched by a new idea, never regains its original dimensions. Oliver Wendell Holmes, Jr.

Graduation

Well I just returned from another graduation at my college. As frustrating as it gets throughout the year, it is always rewarding when you see your students make it.

It is so nice to see the level of satisfaction that can only come by putting forth that effort... and some times that extra effort to accomplish great things. For some tonight, they are the first one in the family to receive a degree.

The purpose of learning is growth, and our minds, unlike our bodies can continue to grow as long as we live. Mortimer Alder

Just a little note... I really like the new President of the college and the direction that he is taking the college. He is out there and does everything above the table, no funny business. What a breath of fresh air.

Always thankful for today...

As I get older in life, I have a greater appreciation for each day and for what God had granted unto me. Having lived on this earth for over fifty years, I have see how quickly illness can strike you down, a germ, a virus, a blockage and of course the dreaded big C cancer.

In this day when procedures, tests and medicine are so advanced and so much better then in centuries passed it seems that more and more are getting cancer or being struck down with other illness. Even my daughters dog was diagnosis this week will a cancerous tumor... even the dog.

So let us not get lost in our work but work to be the best so that we can truly enjoy each day and in the process be a positive influence on someone each day in this life. Be a mentor, be a friend. And always be thankful for what you have.

Too tired...

This time of the semester is usually busy; there are a lot of end of the semester things to do. We are hiring, firing, budgeting, scheduling and well just lots of stuff. And with all we have to do sometimes we forget the things that we vowed to do (and love to do).

Like... exercising, photographing, resting and blogging. I forgot my password, can you believe that? OK I will not let it happen again.
